Poster Award

General Information

At the International CAE Conference, EnginSoft, for the third year in a row, champions and sponsors the "Poster Award", a contest dedicated to recognizing the use of CAE technologies that are illustrated on posters.
EnginSoft's constant commitment and interest acknowledges the importance in disseminating the culture of simulation. The purpose is twofold: offering recognition to excellence and innovation of projects developed in the academic field, and providing a privileged meeting space between the university experiences and the industrial world.

This contest is open to students, graduates, researchers, and / or faculty members such as professors from Universities and Research Centers.

Participation is free. The best 5 posters will be awarded with a Smart Watch courtesy of EnginSoft.

In order to participate, it's necessary to fill in the registration form, in all its parts (remember to upload the poster in pdf format), no later than September 30th, 2014.

EnginSoft propone e sponsorizza per il terzo anno consecutitvo il "Poster Award", un concorso per la premiazione dei migliori poster che illustrino in forma originale l'impiego delle tecnologie CAE.

L'iniziativa si inserisce all'interno delle attività di promozione e diffusione della cultura della simulazione per migliorare il corretto utilizzo degli strumenti di simulazione e favorire la crescita della comunità degli analisti CAE.

Il concorso è riservato a studenti, dottorandi, ricercatori e/o docenti di Università e Centri di Ricerca.

La partecipazione è gratuita. I cinque migliori poster saranno premiati con uno Smart Watch, offerto da EnginSoft.

Per partecipare è necessario compilare il form di registrazione in tutte le sue parti (compreso l'upload del poster in formato pdf) entro il 30 Settembre 2014.

Terms and Conditions 2014

A poster for CAE

At the International CAE Conference, held in Pacengo del Garda (Verona) on October 27th and 28th 2014, EnginSoft, for the third year in a row, champions and sponsors the "Poster Award", a contest dedicated to recognizing the use of CAE technologies that are illustrated on posters.
EnginSoft's constant commitment and interest acknowledges the importance in disseminating the culture of simulation. The purpose is twofold: offering recognition to excellence and innovation of projects developed in the academic field, and providing a privileged meeting space between the university experiences and the industrial world.
This contest is open to students, graduates, researchers, and / or faculty members such as professors from Universities and Research Centers.
Participation is free.
The five best posters will be awarded: the candidate list will be drawn up according to online voting which will be accessed by registered users and members of the Scientific Committee.
In the section "Poster Award" of the International CAE Conference website any information and communications relating to the contest (terms and conditions, application forms, voting procedures, deadlines, notifications, etc..) will be published and made known.

Poster dimension

Posters are to be submitted in English, and are required in the following dimensions and format: width 70 cm, height 100 cm, pdf format at 150 dpi.

Poster features

The subject of the poster is free: each entrant may submit a study / research / project / case studies of any subject area or industrial sector where one or more CAE simulation software, commercial and / or open source, have been used.
The Poster must contain the following information:

  • Title of the project / research;
  • Targets of the project / research;
  • Obtained results;
  • Universities and partners involved;
  • Author / authors of the poster.

By participating in this contest, universities / research centers and individual entrants consent to the use of their personal data (name, surname, or belonging to a research institution), the poster and its contents, and the acquisition and dissemination of photographic, digital, audio, video and multimedia materials, obtained within the activities related to the event, including any subsequent editions, for promotional and informational purposes. Furthermore, the author / authors agree / agrees and authorize / authorizes the organizers of the contest to use his own / their own image.
Materials can be used in any area and will be freely accessible on the web.

How to enter

To enter the contest you need to complete the on-line application form, found in the "Poster Award" section of the website www.caeconference.com by September 30th  2014.

Divulgation

Posters will be published in the poster award section of CAE Conference website.
The best posters, selected according to online voting, and those ones belonging to the winners of the contest will be exhibited at the International CAE Conference.
Moreover, a piece about the event, with the results of the contest and its related photographic material will be published in the EnginSoft Newsletter a Magazine about "Simulation Based Engineering & Science" at the end of the contest.

Scientific Committee

A scientific committee, composed by experts of virtual simulation, will be appointed and evaluate the received posters.

Voting

The voting of posters will take place with an on-line system: registered users and members of the Scientific Committee are allowed to participate in the voting.
Different weights shall be attributed to the two categories of users:

  • registered users: weighting factor 1;
  • members of the Scientific Committee: weighting factor 3.

All information related to the voting (regulation, voting procedures, deadlines, etc..) will be published through the website.

Awards Ceremony

Authors of the posters are kindly requested to take part to the awards ceremony.
At least one author of each winning poster will have to confirm and guarantee the organizing secretary of the contest his presence during the ceremony, otherwise the prize will be awarded to the authors of the subsequent poster on the list.

Prizes

The author of the best posters (or in case of multiple authors, their representative) will be hosted by EnginSoft and will have access to all the initiatives across the two days of the International CAE Conference. Furthermore, the 5 posters classified as winners will receive a smartwatch as a prize.
In case a winning poster is attributed to a group of authors, the prize will be given to the entire group of authors or the groups designated author.

Liability

The organizers of the contest (EnginSoft as promoter and sponsor) cannot be held liable in the event that the contest were to be postponed to a later date, interrupted or canceled, and they have the right to cancel the contest without prior notice and at any time.
The acceptance in the contest is at the discretion of the organizers, and in any case EnginSoft reserves the right to exclude any submissions from the contest, in its sole discretion, posters deemed unsuitable.
EnginSoft assumes no responsibility for the loss or damage of the submitted material, in any format, and will not be liable for any damages, incidental or consequential, including, without limitation, lost profits or any form of advantage, even economic, arising from improper use of information, contained in the posters, and disclosed.

Participants' obligations

Participation in this contest implies full and unconditional acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Un poster per il CAE

All'interno dell'International CAE Conference, che si svolgerà a Pacengo del Garda (Verona) il 27 e 28 ottobre 2014, EnginSoft propone e sponsorizza anche quest'anno il "Poster Award", un concorso per la premiazione dei migliori poster che illustrino in forma originale l'impiego delle tecnologie CAE.
L'iniziativa si inserisce all'interno delle attività di promozione e diffusione della cultura della simulazione che costituiscono un impegno ed un interesse costante di EnginSoft. Lo scopo è duplice: offrire un riconoscimento alla qualità e all'innovazione di progetti, sviluppati in ambito accademico, e fornire uno spazio privilegiato di incontro tra le esperienze universitarie ed il mondo industriale.
Il concorso è riservato a studenti, dottorandi, ricercatori, e/o docenti di Università e Centri di Ricerca.
La partecipazione è gratuita.
Verranno premiati i cinque migliori poster: la graduatoria sarà stilata sulla base di una votazione on-line a cui potranno accedere utenti registrati ed i membri del Comitato Scientifico.
Nella sezione "Poster Award" del sito dell'International CAE Conference saranno pubblicate e rese note tutte le informazioni e comunicazioni relative al concorso (regolamento, application form, modalità di votazione, scadenze, avvisi, etc.).

Dimensioni del poster

I poster, in lingua inglese, devono avere le seguenti caratteristiche: larghezza 70 cm, altezza 100 cm, formato pdf a 150 dpi.

Caratteristiche dei poster

Il soggetto dei poster è libero: ogni concorrente può presentare uno studio/ricerca/progetto/case studies di qualsiasi ambito disciplinare o settore industriale, in cui siano stati utilizzati uno o più software di simulazione CAE, commerciale e/o open source.
Il poster deve contenere le seguenti informazioni:

  • Titolo del progetto/ricerca;
  • Obiettivi del progetto/ricerca;
  • Risultati ottenuti;
  • Università ed eventuali partner;
  • Autore/Autori del poster.

Partecipando al concorso, le università/centri di ricerca ed i singoli concorrenti acconsentono all'utilizzo dei loro dati anagrafici (nome, cognome, università od ente di ricerca di afferenza), del poster e relativi contenuti, e all'acquisizione e diffusione di materiale fotografico, digitale, audio, video e multimediale, realizzato nell'ambito delle attività connesse all'evento, ivi comprese eventuali successive edizioni, per scopi divulgativi e promozionali. Inoltre, l'autore/gli autori acconsente/acconsentono ed autorizza/autorizzano gli organizzatori del concorso all'utilizzo della propria immagine.
Il materiale potrà essere utilizzato in tutti gli ambiti e sarà liberamente consultabile sul web.

Modalita' di partecipazione

Per partecipare al concorso è necessario compilare l'application form on-line, presente nella sezione "Poster Award" del sito www.caeconference.com entro il 30 settembre 2014.

Divulgazione

I poster verranno pubblicati nella sezione poster award del sito web della CAE Conference.
I migliori poster, selezionati sulla base della votazione on-line, e quelli dei vincitori del concorso saranno esposti all'interno dell'International CAE Conference.
Inoltre, a conclusione dell'evento, nella Newsletter EnginSoft, "Magazine sulla Simulation Based Engineering & Science", verrà pubblicato un articolo sull'evento, con gli esiti del concorso e relativo materiale fotografico.

Comitato scientifico

Verrà designato un comitato scientifico, composto da esperti di simulazione virtuale, che valuterà i poster pervenuti.

Votazione

La votazione dei poster avverrà con un sistema on-line: alle votazioni potranno partecipare utenti registrati ed i membri del Comitato Scientifico.
Alle due tipologie di utenti sono attribuiti pesi diversi:

  • utenti registrati: fattore di ponderazione 1;
  • membri del Comitato Scientifico: fattore di ponderazione 3.

Tutte le informazioni relative alle votazioni (regolamento, modalità di votazione, scadenze, etc.) verranno rese note attraverso il sito web.

Cerimonia di Premiazione

Si richiede agli autori dei poster di partecipare alla cerimonia di premiazione.
Almeno uno degli autori di ciascun poster premiato dovrà confermare e garantire alla segreteria organizzativa del concorso la sua presenza durante la premiazione; in caso contrario, il premio verrà assegnato agli autori del poster successivo in graduatoria.

Premi

L'autore dei poster risultati migliori (o, nel caso di più autori, un loro rappresentante) sarà ospite di EnginSoft e potrà accedere a tutte le iniziative delle due giornate dell'International CAE Conference. Inoltre, i 5 poster classificati come vincitori riceveranno in premio uno smartwatch.
Nel caso in cui un poster risultato vincitore sia attribuito ad un gruppo di autori, il premio sarà consegnato all'intero gruppo di autori o all'autore da loro designato.

Responsabilita'

Gli organizzatori del concorso (EnginSoft in qualità di promotore e sponsor) non possono essere ritenuti responsabili nel caso in cui il concorso dovesse essere rimandato ad altra data, interrotto o cancellato e sono liberi di annullare il concorso senza alcun preavviso ed in qualunque momento.
L'accettazione al concorso è rimessa alla discrezionalità degli organizzatori, ed in ogni caso EnginSoft si riserva il diritto di escludere dal concorso, a proprio insindacabile giudizio, i poster ritenuti non idonei.
EnginSoft non si assume alcuna responsabilità per lo smarrimento o danneggiamento del materiale inoltrato, in qualsiasi formato, e non sarà responsabile per eventuali danni, accidentali o conseguenti, inclusi, senza alcuna limitazione, perdita di profitti o di qualsivoglia forma di vantaggio, anche economico, derivanti dall'uso improprio delle informazioni contenute nei poster, e divulgate.

Obblighi dei partecipanti

La partecipazione al concorso implica la completa ed incondizionata accettazione del presente regolamento.
